“Blue Soul” Exhibition by Sergiu Ciochina | Press Release

Painter Sergiu Ciochina invites you, from Thursday, May 1st to Monday, May 12th, 2025, to his first solo exhibition in Paris – Blue Soul. This marks the artist’s debut exhibition as a Moldovan-born painter living in France, bringing together over 30 paintings as well as drawings, offering a comprehensive insight into his visual language.

Concept

The exhibition will feature paintings from the Blue series, as well as other works created over the past five years that have inspired the concept of this show—the artist’s first solo exhibition following his participation in prestigious art events and group shows, such as the Salon d’Automne, the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, and landscape exhibitions in Norway, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea, Moldova, and Italy.

Blue Soul reflects the ebb and flow of our emotions, their source, as well as the creation of a world built through layers, structures, and expressive gestures, blurring the boundaries between the figurative and the abstract. Human figures, though often solitary, emit a subtle energy, reminding us that true self-understanding comes from embracing all emotions, not rejecting them. To live fully, we must be willing to sit with both joy and sorrow, allow them to coexist within us, and see the beauty in the full spectrum of our feelings.

Opening

The vernissage will take place on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, starting at 6:30 PM
Location: 4 Pl. de Thorigny, 75003 Paris
Free admission

The evening will feature the launch of the artist’s new book, a tasting of Moldovan wine and champagne, and open conversations with the artist.
