Retrospective of the debut exhibition
Curator and concept: Dan Ciolpan
Between May 1 and 12, 2025, I had the joy of opening my first solo exhibition in Paris, Blue Soul — a deeply personal and confessional project, presented in a bright and quiet space in the 3rd arrondissement. The exhibition brought together more than 40 works, including paintings and drawings created in recent years, many of them shown to the public for the first time.
Blue Soul is more than just a title. It’s the emotional and visual thread that runs through the entire series: blue figures, fragmented bodies, silences suspended in space. The color blue — in all its shades, from cobalt to Prussian to ultramarine — becomes not just pigment, but feeling. A reflection on human fragility, on absence and suffering, and maybe even a quiet form of hope.
For me, this exhibition was a double journey. An artistic one, as I embraced a path that blends figuration with abstraction. And a personal one, in revealing my own vulnerability as an emerging artist in a foreign city that, over time, has come to feel like home.
Throughout the twelve days of the show, I was deeply moved by the way people received the work — with openness, sensitivity, and empathy. Conversations unfolded naturally, and they reminded me that emotion speaks a universal language. I met people who saw themselves in these “blue souls” — some through the lens of painting, others through their own lived experiences.
Book launch
The exhibition was accompanied by the launch of the Blue Soul artist book, a carefully crafted object that extends the project both visually and conceptually. It includes images of the works, critical texts, and a selection of drawings developed alongside the paintings.
Opening
On May 1st at 5:30 PM, the opening of my exhibition began. Together with my family, friends, acquaintances, collectors, members of the diplomatic corps, and the organizing team, we fully enjoyed the conversations, the viewing of the paintings and drawings, and of course, the wine and champagne from Moldova.

This moment is only a beginning. Blue Soul was a necessary step in shaping my own voice — an honest gesture towards what I live, what moves me, and what inspires me.
To everyone who stood by me in this first chapter: thank you.
More is coming.
